Equip Africa Australia Inc, (EAA) is a non-profit Christian organization, established to meet spiritual and social-economic needs of marginalized individuals through donations. Our mission is to provide training, resources, and support that will empower people to be self reliance. At EAA we believe that the right to training and education is a fundamental human right that should be accessible to all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. Education is essential for personal and professional growth, and it plays a crucial role in combating poverty and promoting social and economic development. By ensuring that everyone has access to quality education, we can help create a more just and equitable world. EAA has two mandates, one to equip rural pastors and equip people to fight poverty and build their own community.
WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS?
The growing African church
1. Recent statistics shows that In many parts of Africa, the Church is growing rapidly and new Christians rose quickly to leadership positions. According to updated data for 2021, there are now nearly 685 million Christians in Africa, with 760 million expected by 2025. Churches cannot cope with this kind of growth. Therefore, some churches only gathered in the classroom and under the tree, but continues to grow! But this powerful church faces discipleship and leadership issues. More than 208 million Christians in Africa do not have a Bible. Up to 80% of African pastoralists have no training or education. More than 500 million Christians in Africa need trained pastors, especially local pastors.
Education exclusion
2. Of all regions, sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rates of education exclusion. Over one-fifth of children between the ages of about 6 and 11 are out of school, followed by one-third of youth between the ages of about 12 and 14. According to UIS data, almost 60% of youth between the ages of about 15 and 17 are not in school.
Without urgent action, the situation will likely get worse as the region faces a rising demand for education due to a still-growing school-age population.
We envision the growing African churches, it marginalized individuals and it diaspora, equipped to reach it full potentials
